Synthia was diagnosed in April and has been fighting cancer since. She has undergone five surgeries including a mastectomy and the removal of her lymph nodes. Currently in the midst of chemotherapy, she knows that she may have additional surgeries to face after completing treatment. Synthia lost all of her hair shortly after starting chemo – leaving her feeling a bit insecure. When GOOP came to us looking for a deserving woman in need of a wig, FAB-U-WISH and The Pink Agenda knew exactly who to call. Together, we granted Synthia a day of beauty to brighten her spirit and boost her confidence as she continues her fight.
GOOP arranged for celebrity hair stylist, Adir Abergel to take Synthia to The Wig Shop in Los Angeles, CA for a wig shopping spree. Having a top hair stylist’s support in selecting a wig that makes you look good and feel good? Sounds pretty great. But we wanted to make Synthia feel even more special. So we had her stop by Blushington for a personalized make-up application beforehand. We wanted Synthia to walk into her wig shopping experience feeling great.
Adir said Synthia initially came in a big quiet and shy, but was smiling and dancing by the time they were finished! The Wig Shop cut and styled two wigs for Synthia, who felt like a super-star in the styling chair. “It looks amazing. I feel so good. Thank you thank you.” Synthia was thrilled and left with the confidence and dignity she needed – and deserved – to complete her treatment feeling beautiful!
