Griselle was a healthy 38-year-old when she discovered a small lump during a self-exam. Rather than putting it off, the voice inside her chose not to ignore this lump. After initial testing was completed, Griselle was told that it was a benign abnormality and to follow-up again in six months. With a family history, Griselle advocated for herself and reached out to a high-risk breast clinic. During her early appointments, Griselle tested positive for BRCA2. A biopsy of the lump ultimately led to her breast cancer diagnosis. She immediately began the whirlwind of treatment and fought through all the side effects for her family. Griselle’s wish was for the opportunity to beautify her garden and create a space to enjoy with her loved ones. #FABUWISH was thrilled to arrange for Griselle to have a special shopping trip at The Home Depot to purchase a variety of plants and items to help create the garden of her dreams.

“Our garden is still a work in progress, but this wish helped give our home a fresh start of new growth for me and my wonderful supportive family. I showed my daughter how to weed out the bad things that pop up and plant shrubs and seeds knowing new roots will form and grow into good, beautiful things. I am valuing self-care, nature, and family time much more than I ever did before. This garden is the jumpstart to a new hobby for us to accomplish those values and I look forward to many wonderful years of seeing my wish bloom again and again. Thank you to  Giuliana and everyone at FAB-U-WISH for being such allies to anyone facing breast cancer. Your genie powers granting our wishes keep us alive and thriving to keep fighting for a future tomorrow.”
