Our Impact Starts with Our Community
Every milestone at The Pink Agenda begins with our community. In 2025, thousands of supporters across the country came together to fund breast cancer research, expand access to education, support those undergoing treatment, and strengthen a growing national network connected by a shared commitment to our mission. Together, we raised more than $1.9 million, brought more than 3,000 supporters together through 80 events and initiatives nationwide, and continued building on the momentum that has driven TPA since 2007.
As we head into one of the most active seasons of the year for The Pink Agenda, that community is once again at the center of everything ahead. From our signature events and educational programs to Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Team TPA at the TCS New York City Marathon, and opportunities to get involved across the country, the months ahead are a powerful reminder of what happens when our community shows up together.

RESEARCH UPDATES
SUSAN M. DOMCHEK, MD
Dr. Susan Domchek is investigating how inherited BRCA1 and BRCA2 mutations may affect the immune system and influence breast cancer risk. Her team has identified differences in certain immune cells in people with BRCA mutations and is now studying healthy breast tissue for very early changes that could signal future cancer risk. These findings could ultimately uncover new opportunities to detect risk earlier and prevent breast cancer before it develops.
DAWN HERSHMAN, MD, MS, FASCO
Dr. Dawn Hershman is working to improve care and quality of life for people living with advanced and metastatic breast cancer. Her research has identified financial challenges as one factor that can affect whether patients remain on treatment and has helped pinpoint patients at greater risk of needing emergency care. Her team is now testing new approaches to support treatment adherence and studying how work disruptions after a diagnosis can affect cancer care and financial wellbeing.
NEIL IYENGAR, MD
Dr. Neil Iyengar is developing personalized lifestyle interventions to improve health and quality of life beginning at the time of a breast cancer diagnosis. Through the Healthy Living Program, patients receive individualized support around exercise, nutrition, and other lifestyle factors. Early results show improvements in wellbeing, physical and emotional functioning, and energy. His team is now expanding the program and studying how digital tools and wearable technology can make these interventions even more personalized and accessible.
KOMAL JHAVERI, MD, FACP
Dr. Komal Jhaveri is exploring a new way to make immunotherapy more effective for patients with ER-positive, HER2-negative metastatic breast cancer, a common form of the disease that has historically shown limited response to immunotherapy. Her team has completed enrollment in a clinical trial testing a novel combination of treatments and is now analyzing blood and tumor samples to identify which patients are most likely to benefit, with the goal of expanding treatment options.
IAN KROP, MD, PHD
Dr. Ian Krop is working to improve how doctors identify patients who may benefit from powerful HER2-targeted treatments. His team has developed a more sensitive test designed to detect very low levels of HER2 that standard testing may miss and is evaluating it in patients with metastatic breast cancer. The research could help more patients access effective HER2-directed therapies while also providing insight into why some cancers respond to treatment and others develop resistance.
ANN PARTRIDGE, MD, MPH
Dr. Ann Partridge is advancing research and care for younger women with breast cancer, who often face distinct medical and quality-of-life challenges. Her team’s digital support program has shown promising early results, including improved quality of life, while ongoing studies are providing important insights into fertility and pregnancy after breast cancer. Her research continues to explore why breast cancer behaves differently in younger women and how care can be better tailored to their needs.
